The end was a big let down

So let me get this straight the main character guy, Ian, got the run around for years from the girl that he had a big crush on, and who probably knew he had a crush on her, and left him flailing in the friend zone and when she finally comes to her senses he folds like a cheap suit. This is after years of being a shoulder for her to cry on and listening to all her drama about failed relationships. He should have had some self respect and engaged in the most depraved degrading sex act with her that he could get away with and then ditched her right afterwords, leaving her ashamed and "dirty" possibly to go sulk in a shower to wash off the degradation. In the war that is romance you can't take prisoners and there is most assuredly winners and losers. One most always to play for keeps.

i agree wholeheartedly. the man should have lit some black candles, put on some "carmina burana," and set up some red lights so they reflect off his face while he engages in the most angry and degrading sex man, or woman for that matter, has ever seen.

That's exactly what I had in mind, and perhaps laugh manically intermixed with some short periods of uncontrolled sobbing throughout the entire session.

Silly me! I thought it was enough and apropos that James Marsden threw a firecracker at them!
That to me was a good ending.

Forget the two kids on the couch or all the graffiti on the walls;
James sneaking down the stairs and enjoying his dopey prank was a fit ending - plus the business with Seth Green and the musicians during the credits.
