Metacritic 53. Hardly any Nicholas Cage. Stupid subplot. Not worth the bandwidth.
Save yourself 2 hours of life!
I didn't like the editing style and some of the shots. The direction sucked the funny right out of the movie. It's hard to put your finger on it exactly, but some of the editing felt off, too quick cut, trying to be too slick, and the next shot it fell on felt off as well.
Let the jokes breath instead of quick cutting
My feelings exactly. It had everything you'd expect in a movie made in 2023 - weak, indecisive male lead that needs saving by the strong and empowered (oh brother) foul-mouthed, "tough" (i.e insufferable) female lead that is below average in looks and charisma, but is better at most things than everyone else. She can take on and beat several guys despite being 5'2", 120lb and having the grace and athleticism of an average person. Was her calling her colleagues MFs and telling them to openly fuck off supposed to show how amazing she is?
A stupid villain that is not menacing in the slightest, who spews out cringe dialogue and is again, dominated by another powerful woman. Obligatory cucked white guy character who gets shit on by everyone for comedy and lame af CGI action scenes. Add to that shitty editing, plot, dialogue and script. "Sucks ass" is a great summary of this turd of a movie.
