Does Universal have yet ANOTHER low-budget hit on it's hands? They are really schooling the industry in how it's done in this post-pandemic age.

Unfortunately no. It was a fun movie. But, it's not going to make much. Oh well. It will have a cult following. Cage was awesome in it and Holt is a solid actor in the role.

Renfield's production budget was $65 million, and they've clearly spent a lot promoting the film, as there have been ads everywhere for weeks, if not months. In 14 days it's brought in a whopping $19,390,936 globally. Best case, $10 million of that went back to Universal.
They took a bath on this one.
You are correct, this is a flop. I thought it was going to do much better and initially I was under the impression the production budget was much lower.
