finale?

-Having Pete's defining moment be his entire warehouse experience and Mrs. F telling him that it wasn't over, made it seem like he was going to wind up being caretaker, but then not. WTF?

-Why were all the defining moments of these characters things we'd never seen before? If these moments were so important, why had the audience not seem them before the finale?

-What was the point of Mrs. F showing all her experience to Jinx, but no one else, if not to set him up as caretaker?

-What was the point of having Claudia come to the realization that she didn't want to be caretaker, only for her to end up caretaker after all?

-Why didn't the warehouse move? and if it didn't move, why didn't Pete, Myka, Artie and Steve remain when it was so clear that they weren't ready to move on?

-Why did Pete and Myka have to end up in love together? ugh

all in all a very confusing and disappointing episode IMHO.

I really enjoyed the finale but Ill try to answer your questions from my perspective.

1. I never thought Pete was up for caretaker. I think the whole message between he and Mrs F was that he had to accept the warehouse would not always be part of his life, no matter when it moved on but that every moment was special to him. Hence why his time capsul contribution was not one moment, it was everything he had gone through.

-at first I didnt like that the moments were things we hadnt seen before either but it was also nice to see something different than your usual flashbacks. And the moments weren't really what was important, it was the lessons learned from them. Myka realized she was worth more than just being the brains of the operation, Steve realized that he really belonged and how important and magical his experiences were and so on. It would have been hard to relay that message with one small clip from any of the past seasons.

-I think the Jinx/Mrs F stuff was just to show him how much he really did belong. They were bonding and he was an important part of the warehouse.

-The whole Claudia thing was to show her she did have a choice. I didn't like how she originally had been almost forced to be caretaker. It should have been her decision. And we know she was right for the job but she had to want to do it. Was much better she came back around to it when she was ready for it.

-The warehouse could have moved, the point was they had to be prepared for it to move at any time in their careers, and they couldnt take for granted it would always be there. The whole scene with Artie and his son was sort of a way of saying they had to live their lives still without the warehouse being the ONLY thing that they had... Also I assumed by the "several decades later" that they had very much indeed stayed at the warehouse for a long time after that. If we infer several to be 3 or more then it was at least 30 years in the future before the new people took over. They had to have been in their sixties at that point. Caretakers dont age so Claudia probably took over several years after the last scene we saw with Myka and Pete.

-I know im in the minority but I liked their romance. They were goofy, and silly, and maybe not your typical hot and heavy electrically charged romance, but they were best friends who were there for eachother through everything. I thought it felt right.

I think you missed a lot of the episode and series

1) Pete never was the caretaker. The warehouse chose Claudia, which has been discussed for the past two seasons. Claudia and the Warehouse have always had that connection. The defining moment has nothing to do with being care taker.

2) This was explained in the middle of the episode. They are not defining moments per se, but rather the artifact and warehouse giving back to the agents. The warehouse is showing them what they currently need to see, not the highlight of their time their. It is the warehouses gift to the agents, showing them what they need to see at that point in time.

3) Because he is the only one sitting there. And she did show stuff to the other agents, that is how the episode began.

4) Again, the warehouse was merely showing them what they needed to see at THAT point in time. She did not want to be caretaker at that moment, but the whole point of arties flashback was too show that she had a choice and it was up to her. At some point later, she obviously changes her mind.

5) As claudia explaineed, the warehouse didnt move because it took a liking to the people in it. They did all stay with the warehouse for unknown time. The final scene takes place decades later.

6) As far back as Season 1, there are hints at the possibility of their relationship.

I thought that the finale was perfect. I liked everything about it. The whole point of the Myka moment was that she realized that she was in love with Pete. If anything I would have added more to the Pyka romance. I would have rather had seen the final scene being Pyka as a family moving on with life after the warehouse. Hopefully the DVD will have extra alternate endings, but I won't hold my breath.

I thought that was going to lead up to Pete not having a defining moment, and that him accepting that the warehouse can move at any second was going to be his defining moment. I didn't think it was hinting at all that he was meant to be the new caretaker.

Because a clip show as a finale is the lazy way to go.

Everyone else was getting caught up in their own thing and leaving the table. What were Mrs. Frederic and Jinks supposed to do, sit there and do nothing, waiting for everyone to come back? Mrs. Frederic knew how important the defining moment thing was, so she showed Jinks some stuff to pass the time.
