I can think of only one show that's allowed a non-homosexual male to be in a sexual relationship with another male.

Since it's the only one I'm aware of, I'm guessing you mean Ianto in Torchwood. The funniest part of that is Gareth David-Lloyd who played Ianto also played the Warehouse 12 agent who was HG's partner in one episode.

kaylink actually reminds a little bit of some of the Janto fans. The way they reacted when Ianto was killed off.

I remember one even called Russell T. Davies a homophobic murderer. Funny thing to call an openly gay man.

The place where this breaks down is it isn't about being "regular sex" or not, it's about arousal. Fair or not, a pretty good percentage of men are aroused by seeing two females go at it, but rather few females are turned on by a pair of guys. Not really sure how a straight female reacts to lesbian scenes, but the average straight guy could have a female present and 'stimulating' him and he'd lose his arousal at the sight of two guys going at it. No idea why this is, but I don't see it changing any time soon.
