The season 3 finale really tugs on the heartstrings doesn't it

Finally watching this show - and although it is a feel good fun show (like Eureka) i didn't expect it to be this serious at times - Eureka got slightly serious at times but not THAT serious

Steve, Frederick, and HG all perish in one two part episode - and although i knew they would be back (Sci-Fi tropes are a bitch) it really got to me (especially Steve's death)

I liked the aftermath and i am only 4 episodes into season 4 i still think the deaths should have stuck - especially Steve's BECAUSE of how goddamn heart breaking it was (Claudia's scream was haunting)

I understand why Mrs. Frederick had to come back (tied to W13) HG's sacrifice should have stuck but time travel and all but i think Steve's death was a necessity to develop Claudia even more

On the subject of the death scenes - why couldn't HG just put the force field around the bomb if it couldn't penetrate it? therefore everyone would be protected including HG and W13
