Is this best finale ever?

Well, it took a year and a half, but we finally got to see the final six episodes of Warehouse 13. While we will miss the show very much, I could only wish many other shows I have loved had been given the opportunity for as much closure as this one gave. "Endless" was an amazing summation of what had been a very creative and enjoyable five years. Thanks for the memories !

I didn't find it very satisfying at all. About the only thing I liked was the end showing good old 13 soldiering on with Claudia as the new Mrs F

Did they advertise it at all? I am just finding out it got a finale today.

Of all the shows I've finished, I do think this had the best finale. They threw in a few more artifact cases by way of memories, made us feel closure because the characters came to terms with the changes, put the main leads together romantically, and pretty much answered all our questions while leaving it open-ended enough in their story universe.

I really enjoyed it and wish there were more shows like this and Fringe, The Librarians, and Supernatural...

put the main leads together romantically

I liked everything except this. Especially with this show. The Pete/Myka relationship was the best Male/Female relationship on TV because they never tried to go to the romantic route.

I am so frustrated with the apparent law that a male and female lead MUST get together romantically.

I am a single hetero male who just does not want nor is a good at dealing with relationships and I am aware of that. I am very social and understand relationships (so I am not Sheldon Cooper), I simply am too self conscious of myself when I am in one.

I would love to have a series with a main leads of opposite gender who do not get together. It is unrealistic. I work in a building with over 500 people in it and maybe there are 5 couples in the entire building. Yet in TV, EVERY SINGLE male and female lead gets together. Mulder/Scully, Castle/Beckett, Myka/Pete, Bones/Booth and so on. So many of these shows could have avoided that easily but they all went to the same boring plot point.

Sorry but I did not care for a good part of it. Pete and Myka as a couple for example makes me ill.

reply

No. Not in a Science Fiction show anyway.

IMHO, that honor goes to Sleeping in Light which was the series finale for Babylon 5.

Redhooks, I second your recommendation of "Sleeping in Light." I've never seen a better finale on any program.

Warehouse 13 is one of my favorite shows, but Six Feet Under still has the best series finale I've ever seen.

I remember watching the last episode and knowing full well it was the last episode but thinking "is that it?".

It was kind of a crappy way to end a couple crappy seasons of a show that had way more potential in the beginning.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, but I found it barely watchable. I've just finished watching it for the first time, and if it had been any episode in the show I'd have skipped it. For me, this is actually one of the worst episodes I have seen.

The story felt like a clip show, with plots wedged in that didn't seem to fit.

The sudden switch to relationship with Myka and Pete felt forced and uneven, and not earnt.

Helena's moment was okay, I guess - just cringy dialogue.

The reveal of Artie's son felt ridiculous - for all this time, one of the key elements for Artie was that his life was inside the warehouse and that he had no one outside the warehouse. For all these years, that's been repeated over and over and over and over and over and over. So suddenly 'nope, he has a life and family outside the warehouse, has had the whole time' just felt ridiculous and, again, felt forced.

Steve's moment was ruined by some impressively bad CGI.

They go to the trouble to introduce Abigail Cho and then she not only disappears for the rest of the series, but she's not even granted an appearance in this one? I know she's a background character, but even Leena got a last moment, but I was really starting to like her and not even a mention of her. And we didn't get to see Mrs F's last moment. That was annoying.

Also, I super love Claudia, but WTF is the dress she's wearing in the end. What I love about her is that she wasn't sexualised throughout this show, and she's dressed for a night club? blah.

No, I'm pleased you enjoyed it - no reason you shouldn't have. But for me it was just an absolute let down, I really wish I hadn't even watched the episode.

To all the people who didn't like the finale or wonder why they did something "that way," I encourage you to play the episode podcast and much, if not all, will be explained. I would suggest this for all of the episodes that have them or the regular commentaries.
