Claudia Donovan's questionable talent

In the episode, "What Matters Most," Claudia is looking at a wall of graffiti that some kid painted under the influence of an artifact. It consists of mathematical equations and computer code. The problem with the scene is they that make Claudia look like a n00b. She says, "I can't tell if it's JAVA or C++. The girl is supposed to be an exceptional computer expert. Claudia's ability to compromise any remote host she sets her eyes on and unable to tell the difference between java and C++ is wrong for her character.

Java is basically an Object Oriented Programming language whereas C is Procedure Oriented Programming language. C++ is an intermediate between the two. It overcomes the drawback of C i.e. objects can be used to access different parts of program which is the key feature of JAVA.

If all you have is a small piece of code there are certainly parts of c++ that look like Java and vice versa.

It's not like she was looking at a window on a computer with the full code in front of her. I didn't find that scene to be unbelievable, I just figured she's looking at something out of context (in painted graffiti) and it would take her a bit to figure out what it was.

Thanks for the explanation when I saw that episode I thought the same thing as Kunovega. Claudia's a hacker why wouldn't she know the difference but now I know thanks
