I just wasn't buying it. The movie wasn't that bad, but he's just not that convincing in very serious roles. He's better suited for light dramas or comedies. Not suspense flicks like this one. If someone else had been casted, this movie would've been much better.
I did like Dallas Robert's performance. He was cool, calm, and twisted. Not over-the-top crazy like most insane abductors. He was great.
Have you seen 1408? I thought he was fantastic in that film.
I will admit after having watched The Factory, his performance in this film was definitely one of his weakest efforts. Though the movie was terrible in every aspect as well. I think one thing to remember with these direct to video movies is how quickly they are shot. I'm sure as an actor, it's much harder to give a top notch performance in such a short time when compared to a bigger Hollywood production that lasts several months.
He's also great in "Identity".
