So we're supposed to believe a psychopathic killer picked up Kelsey the hitchhiker, waited until she was accepted to the police academy, graduated, and eventually made detective -- all to help her torture other women for the purpose of giving her multiple children?

Yes! Not a plot hole, just a ridiculous script. Apparently we are all supposed to marvel at the cleverness of this "big reveal". Is it any wonder this film sat on a shelf gathering dust for a number of years before it was released?🐭
