(major spoilers) This is why we can't have original films

This was a good film. Maybe not go to the theaters good but DVD or Netflix good.

Look at every other Jason Statham, Chris Pine, Christian Bale, Matthew Mcconaughey, cop/crime drama. You have a romance at the beginning, you introduce the good guys then then bad guys. Bad guys go kill the bad guys with a big shoot-out and then they have kiss at the end.

The Factory didn't have any of that, just a solid crime mystery. There wasn't really any romance thrown in. The cops really haven't figured out what is going on yet, there is only really some circumstantial evidence tied to the real killer. And even after that, the cops are still turned onto the wrong guy.

tl;dr: I liked the darkness of the killer. I liked Cusack as the opposed detective and I liked the plot-twist at the end.

I completely agree. That is what I loved about it. Not only was there no love story there was no love between him and his wife. It was great. Sort of like watching Law & Order: SVU.

Agreed. Even with a few holes, the plot was much more interesting than the usual cop stuff.

Same with the central family, frazzled and romance dead due to time, work and kids. The daughter Abby was a great character, excellently portrayed by Mae Whitman.

Nice movie.

Different opinion here. I like a lot of Cusak's work but this was one of his worst(along with bagman). I didnt like the twist in the end because it didn't feel Authentic to me. I didnt think Dallas was credible as Carl and the 'scary scenes' were sucky and Abby stepped On my nerves for some reason. Wished I never bought this DVD...

I like John Cusack, but this film sucked . Talk about a one note performance playing the obsessed cop at the expense of his poor family.. Spent virtually the whole movie with a perpetual hang dog expression on his face. Then there was the daughter, looking like an escapee from some 80's film. If you are going to make her a central character as she turned out to be, at least make her half way sympathetic, instead of a rude, disrespectful little super bitch. The twist at the end was just too ridiculous for words. I just laughed. I believe this film sat on a shelf for a few years, seeking "the right time to release" and its plain to see why.🐭
