So groundhog day meets edge of tomorrow at 2:22 instead of 12:01 ?

I think you mean 6:00 for Groundhog Day...

Ah. I actually just caught Edge of Tomorrow on HBO yesterday. I thought that was just awful. So bland I was barely interested. 2:22 looks like it has more of a storyline from an expanded synopsis I read. And better actors in my opinion.

Not only that, but "12:01" the movie was preceded by "12:01" the short film.

Time loop plots seem to be becoming its own genre.
