Phoenix brilliantly acted every piece of horrible plot the script threw at him. Very impressive.
He played everything with dignity and nuance. Something this horrible concoction of a sequel did not deserve.
From what I heard, the sequel being a musical and the casting of Gaga were all his ideas.
