I suggest Hollywood, and all entertainers for that matter, stay away from politics.
Ole george c is paying the price for being political, his last movie 'wolfs' was pulled from theaters and went straight to TV for his stance on politics, may he NEVER again make anything that makes money if he keeps his politics out front and center.

when i heard it was a musical i know it would be shit.
but apparently it's not only the music that brings it down, it's the whole story.
now that is surprising, so it's a complete failure!
I knew it was going to suck just from title and rarely sequels do well anymore these days. you only need one Joker movie. then you add Gaga and a musical which really doomed it. hollywood never learns.

This article says the movie is heading for a total of $70 domestic and $200 worldwide
The reason is the movie won’t have legs, based on what we’ve seen so far. After $7 million on previews last Thursday, the studio downgraded their expectations to $40 mil (which was overestimating by $3 million). On Monday, the movie grossed about $1.8 million, and usually, movies on their first Monday gross about 8% their opening weekend gross, not 5%. Joker is likely to be 3rd this upcoming weekend behind Wild Robot and Terrifier
Worse case scenario, which isn’t impossible, is that Joker draws under $7.5 million to set a record low drop. More possible, the film draws about $11-12 million for a 70%-ish drop in its 2nd week
