Basically A Competant Movie, But..........

This movie is fairly well made. A bit funny in parts. Han Solo did a good job as the misanthropic anchor.

But.

The lead character is without doubt the most annoying character in a movie ever. The third most annoying anyway. Within 15 minutes I wanted to work her over with a baseball bat.

This isn't good for a dramatic presentation, because the first rule of good drama is to create sympathetic characters and put them into conflict.

Also but.

The lead character was getting frothy at the mouth about making a crappy TV show into a crappy TV show that's not last in the ratings. She doesn't seem to realise, as Han Solo did, that the number one crappy TV show, is still a crappy TV show.

So.

We have a ghastly lead character, who is attempting to do something utterly pointless. In the end she subverts the only half way principled character in the movie.

This does not make for a good movie.

What would have made this better would be the growing realisation from the lead character that what she is attempting to do is polish shyte And in a crisis of conscience join Han Solo in a coup against the management of IBS. And blow up the Death Star.

IBS is a really cool name for a broadcasting organisation by the way.
