I work in TV production and that's the only reason I went to this movie

Surprisingly I actually liked it. Couldn't stand Harrison Ford though. He hasn't shown any personality in anything I've seen him in recently.

The romantic stuff was written badly as well, but I don't feel like getting into that.

Perhaps the main reason I enjoyed this movie was because I'm a production director at a local news station and I could easily see our crew in those positions and it made it that much funnier.

Thanks for your input.

Other than a brief stint on a sound board for a volunteer community access cable show, I've never worked in TV production. I'd be very curious to hear your take on how realistic the scenes actually were.

I know doctors and lawyers sometimes have issues with the details of doctor & lawyer movies, but I'd love to hear more about what really goes on behind the scenes on a TV set.

working in tv myself, the movie was rather spot on, as far as the behind the scenes aspects.

fun fact for you:

the DayBreak director is Don Roy King, who is the director of Saturday Night Live. and likewise, the Assistant Director of DayBreak was Robert Caminiti, who is the Assistant Director of SNL.

hah- same here! I usually don't go for these sorts of movies, but I had to hit up this one. I laughed my bum off at the Jimmy Carter graphic more than anything else in the film. Such a plausible error that could happen and completely hilarious. Too bad the whole movie wasn't as quality as the scenes of the actual show.

I'm not commenting on the movie but I love matthewbroderickrocks name!! WTG!!

It would have been as funny without the graphic mixup. The resemblance of Carter to the perpetrator was striking enough.

I do lighting at my church and when we were in the old tech booth, I kept saying we needed to set up a web feed, both audio and video for people to watch the show. Because of the cracks going on in the booth and everything else. there were days when it was like MST in there during the service (message to be exact). lol

so yeah I enjoyed this movie a bit more because of that. But I still like the movie as a whole.

As for Ford... his character in this movie reminded me of a bitter, older, cranky Han Solo. ;)
