General thoughts
I watched this movie because I knew it was behind the scenes of a TV show, and I loved the larry sanders show. I also saw that jj abram's production company produced this, so I figured I should check it out. I do think this had potential, but it couldn't resist from having the standard elements of a generic romantic comedy. the script was pretty solid, but just stupid little moments (any jokes with jeff goldblum's door or hitting her head on patrick wilson's lamp) were completely unnecessary. in terms of the acting, rachel mcadams was great. harrison ford had one good scene i thought (the immediate aftermath of the governor thing) but the rest of his performance felt laughable mainly. diane keaton was awkward to me, when she was being comedic she felt zany and in the wrong movie. overall, not a bad movie, but sometimes it hurts to see the ones with huge potential to fall short.
