Mike and Becky?

I know that Morning Glory was based off of a book but I think that both the book and the movie would have worked better as a romantic comedy had Mike and Becky been the will-they won't-they couple throughout. As it is, Becky is with someone whom in the book was incredibly unlikable (in the movie as well, actually) and the movie tries to make Mike and Becky's relationship like a sort-of friendship but it doesn't really work.

What does everyone else think?

No, I thought it was refreshing that it didn't have that tired romantic angle. Her relationship with Patrick Wilson's character was definitely a sub-story, used more to demonstrate Becky's personality and life and give a little more insight into how Mike's former coworkers feel about him and I liked that. I can't comment on the book because I haven't read it.
