Funny as hell! See it!

I thought this movie was very well made, and hilarious. See it!

I agree that the movie was well made and worth seeing. It's not really a romantic comedy. It's a movie about co-workers and work and what people want from their jobs. How is that so hard to understand that people seem to have felt cheated out of a 'The Proposal' clone?

Harrison Ford was hilarious!!! Completely stole the show.

reply

OMG, he was deadly funny with this expressions, despite having a serious man role. One of the most memorable characters of the recent times :)
RM also stole the show ... perfect movie for light entertainment :)

reply

Completely agreed.

My wife picked this one out and I expected a cliche chick flick. What I instead got was a really entertaining comedy/drama. The romance element was minimilized and not shoved in your face; which worked.

When you factor in how hilarious Harrison Ford was, this movie was a winner imo.

Loved it. I laugh at the idiots that were expecting something amazing oscar worthy.

i'm not saying it is a bad movie

it just did not click for me

the whole plot was just, nothing

and no part of the acting or directing was good

nonetheless, i'm glad that some find it entertaining

Watching it for a second time. Love it!!!

Yeah, this seems a bit like a propaganda thread. Are studios now hiring people to blog about how great the movies they make are? Wouldn't surprise me.

Anyway, I thought it was pretty good, though not great.

Funny at times, though not often enough. And, I'm sorry, the guy that she fell for seemed, I don't know, kind of blah. Couldn't they have found someone more interesting? Hell, any time Rachel McAdams is looking for someone to play a love interest I'm available.

Are you kidding!?!@?!?!?!?!!? Patrick Wilson is multi-talented, sexy, accomplished and smart in this movie and life. And this is the 5th time I've watched this movie, it's positive message for young women is amazing!!

Never heard of Patrick Wilson. Didn't like his hair. And there didn't seem to be anything special about his character in this film. What was interesting about him? He got bossed around by Harrison Ford's character. That's not interesting. He worked at a magazine. Not interesting. He was on the rowing team. Not interesting. They try to build him up in that one scene where they talk about him, but it's just talk. He doesn't do anything. He doesn't prove his talent at any point. He doesn't stand up to anyone. McAdams' character does, but he doesn't. He doesn't even romance her very well. Nothing clever comes out of his mouth.

Positive message for women, sure, I'll buy that. Patrick Wilson? Blah. 'Course, I'm not a woman so maybe I'm missing something.

The movie was funny, and I did like it on the whole. But... I didn't really connect with the characters. I thought, being in the news business myself, that I would feel *something*, but I just didn't connect with any of the characters. Still a good flick.

Call me Katie. ;-)

I didn't say he was a positive message for women, I said the movie was.

I know, and I didn't mean to say he was, either. I meant the movie. Sorry if I didn't say it clearly enough.

As for Wilson, maybe he's had a better role in something else that you could recommend. I'll give him another chance, I just didn't think that they created a very good character for him...and I didn't like his hair.

Yeah he is really good in quite a few movies, he's not really a rom-com guy. He is great in Hard Candy, the alamo, the phantom of the opera(he's Raoul), little children, Lakeview Terrace, Watchmen, the a-team, he's in the switch but i personally hated that movie, he's super sexy and gets naked in like 80% of his movies.

Yeah, okay, I can mention a few movies where Halle Berry gets naked. Want to hear about those? As I said, I'm a guy so not to concerned about seeing other guys naked. I did see Lakeview Terrace. He was pretty good in that.

You can mention those, although i've probably already seen them, and i didn't see that you said you were a guy sorry, did i mention he's in the a-team? I forgot to list that i think. Just for lots of women it's like whoa this guy gets naked, i didn't mean you should watch it because he gets naked because it's not all through the movies. Lakeview Terrace is one of my favorite movies. i adore him in it too. And his wife in the movie.

The only time I laughed was when that reporter was constantly getting crazy assignments and stories...
Everything else was blah...

Havent seen a decent romcom in a while so this was a pleasant surprise ;))

reply

Totally agree! I didn't expect too much of this movie but... what a pleasant surprise.

It was very refreshing and at the end it just leaves you with a great feeling. Its about friendship about work about the real meaning and of dreams... You get to love each character. nobody is neglected. Its funny but it also touches you. They don't make movies like this as often as they should.
Loved Amy loved Harrison Ford. The rest of the cast was superb.

It's not an oscar movie. But some of my fav movies aren't anyway.

Loved it!
