Does Ford have Parkinson's? And why the heck

was he doing an awful Clint Eastwood impression in the movie? His acting was truly horrible.

He was stoned. I'm serious. Just look at his last couple interviews, such as recently on Conan. Rumor is he became a pothead on the set of the last Indiana Jones film.

I dont know about the pot(wouldnt surprise me though), but he sure looked like *beep* in this movie( i know he is quite old now ),but still, not looking too good anymore. Eek i am dreading aging myself.

What's age got to do with it? He looks to be in better physical condition than 80% of men thirty years younger. Most I see are bloated, obese slobs and look to be ticking time bombs with heart disease, hypertension, strokes and diabetes, and death right around the corner.
You'd be lucky to reach his age looking that good.

reply

I thought Ford looked pretty good for his age, also. Heck, he can't look like Han Solo all of his life.

However, there was one scene (can't recall exactly what was going on in it) when his fingers had some sort of rhythmic twitch or spasm. It was very distracting and worrisome. Maybe it was supposed to be because he was upset?

reply

Near the end of the movies when he is sitting on the bench talking to Rachel McAdams' character is when I noticed the trembling being particularly bad.

If I look that good when I'm almost 70 years old, I'll be the happiest man on the planet.

I mean , he didnt look good for Harrison Ford(cuz he is getting older, and im used to him being so hot) , he used to be so gorgeous , not that he looks bad for his age.

What do you mean he "became a pothead"? Lol!

Yeah, I thought the same thing, his acting wasn't too good. But then I thought maybe it's what the character is supposed to be like. None of the other characters in the movie liked him, so maybe he was acting like a dead beet because that's what the script called for.

reply

He played a man who's aging and has something called 'gravitas.' That's not a disease. Look 'gravitas' up in the dictionary.

reply

Hahaha! I kept being reminded of Clint Eastwood, too. I had to remind myself it wasn't he.

reply

yeah dude it was unbearable, really

it was so bad i couldn't pay attention to the story for wondering about what his problem was.

and to the person who said excuse me, they must be a very unbiased person, unable to give an honest assessment. in fact most people are that way. subjectivity rules these days

Between the gravitas and the dead beets, I can hardly keep from p''ing my pants...cause I'm an incontenent old dame, and this all is just too funny.

News flash: actors age. They get old. They play old people. Old people have tics and quirks and uninstalled edit buttons. Long live Harrison Ford, and Sophia Loren, and Anthony Hopkins, and Clint Eastwood, and Sean Connery, and Diane Keaton, and Michael Caine, and the memory of the late, great Paul Newman, and every other old fart who courageously steps in front of a camera, after being hailed back in the day as a sex god(dess), and enacts, wrinkles warts & all, the extraordinary drama of the elder human being.

Children...step aside...and get over yourselves.

They might one day learn to fill in the blank more gracefully....

get over yourself, yourself, and read the post you replied to. i didn't mention age, but since you brought it up:

old actors are fine with me, but young or old or fat or WHOMEVER it is should only be cast if the part is right for them. ford was horrible in this and did not play as the grouchy elder statesman. sorry but i think he flopped. i like him to death but he wasn't right for this role.

you totally misinferred my point, which is EXACTLY THE KIND OF subjectivism i mentioned in my first post. (i rest my case)

kinda reminds me of some subjective people i know in my town here, who can't see past their own nose sometimes.

Tut tut, child...my reply wasn't specifically to you, but to the general crapola on the thread. But speaking of which....

Aw, forget it. It's not worth bothering with.

S/he filled in the blank with "misinferred subjectivism" . . . Sheesh!

Ford was awesome as always, since he have this "grumpy" image attached to him, he plays those characters more often now

reply

Ford's voice has gone deeper and huskier as he has grown old, so has Eastwood and many other actors.

Ford may be grumpy in real life but its rather jarring when on screen. Hans Solo and Indiana Jones did not come across as grumpy!

Its that man again!!

reply

I thought he was creating a character, one that is not likable, is worn out, cynical, and physically shaky sometimes (because it is noted in the movie that the newsman periodically went on drinking binges - shaky hands go along with that). I do miss the dashing Hans Solo but that was in a galaxy long ago and far away.
