News People Are the Most Cynical - Liked the Movie

I liked it because it showed the main character realizing, before it was too late, that being the highest profile producer wasn't the best goal to have. Being a great producer but keeping her personal life (including loyalty to coworkers) was.

I worked for a year as a weekend intern at a CBS affiliate and could not believe how desensitized and cynical the regular news crew members were. I'm sorry, I know there are horrible things in this life, but there ARE still honorable people who keep their word, pay their bills, don't get blotto, have faith, and raise their children in a responsible manner.

Being in the news media is a rat race. You want to make your way up the greasy pole. You learn fast as in other occupations that keeping your head down, working hard, getting results does not automatically lead to rewards and riches.

You have to get desensitised to the effects of the news. Else you will not be able to survive and function. Its more a keeping a sense of perspective.

Its that man again!!
