Anyone else think that Adam was going to turnout to be one of his kids?

As I replied to another post it all seemed to be building to that. He got pissed off with her for using her phone at dinner - exactly what Mike said he did to alienate his family. Mentioned knowing him a long time at one point. Him hating Mike could have stemmed from him being a sh*tty dad as well as working together. Then at the end when Adam was watching the cooking segment I was convinced we'd and she'd find out it's his son. Without this it makes his character and the romance sub plot kind of empty and uninteresting. There could well have been early indicators that this was not possible as I just had the film on in the background for the first half. If so then maybe I would have been less disappointed in the ending if I'd known initially that that was not a possibility.

When I watched it I too thought that Adam was the son of Mike Pomeroy. It really seemed that way how he resented him far beyond a dysfunctional work relationship level. The similarities of the characters and the implied history. When I speculated that this was going to be the big reveal in the movie someone looked at me like I was crazy.

A missed opportunity I'd say. This movie was totally half baked. It had the potential but didn't take it anywhere.
