Maybe just one or two little sing-a-long numbers??
Your mileage may vary, but I would have enjoyed this movie more if I'd known some of the songs.
Although goofy, I think A Knight's Tale captured its audience right off the bat by starting off with a Queen song. Part of the fun of Moulin Rouge was the anachronistic popular music. Mama Mia was hardly a cinematic masterpiece, but imagine trying to watch it if you'd never heard Abba.
Ha, even with Cats, which is painful, the audience perks up when "Memories" finally comes along, because they're familiar with that one.
Just my two cents.
