Mustang Ranch was located 10 miles east of Reno, Nv off I-80.
Moonlight is located a few miles east of Carson City, Nv in Moundhouse, nv off Hiway 50 east.
The Story is Based on Joe and Sally Conforte of Mustang Ranch fame. Sally died many years ago but Joe is still alive and living in South America. He lives there to avoid charges of tax evasion and I think fraud in relation to the tax evasion.
Some scenes were filmed in Reno such as at the Ranch Sierra Motel across from the Sands casino.

Some scenes were shot on the now-defunct Old Bridge Ranch, which was officially back in the day known as "Mustang II." I worked there for a few until it closed down in 2008 after the new owner got sent away for QUITE some legal troubles, LOL.
They obviously repainted and renamed the place for the film... but that buzzer and gate still bring back both fond and bittersweet memories. The front door of the brothel used to have a bench on each side; it was once a glorious country-laden view in the springtime for us day girls. The newer owner was not slime like Mr. Hof of the Bunnyranch either; he rarely visited let alone slept with any of the girls... nor did his HA in-laws who ran the place! They were a class-act except for maybe 1 bro... either way they were totally professional as far as brothel managers/ biker gangs/alleged meth-heads go, LOL.
Oh yeah, and STILL MISSING CRUNCH! What an exceptional person... miss all the lovely friends I made there too.
