I'm not gonna go into detail about everything that is wrong with this movie, but if you've been a fan of the first 4 Scream movies DON'T watch this. It's basically a worse remake of Scream 4. Nothing is original in this. So disappointed

I loved it. Naturally I imagined myself being ghostface again. This one and the previous one are going beyond the past trilogy into the future which is a good thing. It's innovation. Plus the filmmakers are ageing as well as me. It was really cool to get Kevin Williamson make an original style Scream movie. He's an expert at it and therefore made an enjoyable movie of this Scream type. This was suitable for me in my early 40's. A sombre looking slasher movie. It's gold. Really talented filmmakers.

The movie style is different. It fits with the time it's in, more in the future. I would call it more developed. The kill scenes keep getting better....

The time frame is portrayed exactly the same as 4.

I dont see what was innovative other than it was set in modern day.
That's not really innovative, just a setting.
It was mostly a less exciting rehash.
The killer reveal was the weakest in the series and ***minor spoiler***** they had no connection to the original story.

Mixed. It's fun now because "new is better." But it definitely has its flaws. And it feels like it pokes fun at its own flaws so they can appear intentional, as a way to elevate it as well as to be its own excuse.

The movie was decent but not one kill was interesting. Just the usual slice and dice. Plus none of these sequels have been able to top the original, which was the most relevant.

Agreed. This is trash. Basically Scream 4 v2.0. Slightly better, but 4 set the bar pretty low. Scream really should've remained a trilogy, ironically.
