The rumors are that it's based on Gale and her backstory and hometown.

Which means it makes little sense for Marley Shelton to return.

Herego, Marley Shelton gets killed in the opening.

Herego, Gale is one of the killers this time around.

My money is on killer #2 being Jack Quaid, he just has that look and I'll trust my intuition. He'll turn out to be Gale's hidden half-brother or something and they're in cahoots.

As part of it being a "relaunch," Gale and Jack will have a kitchen confrontation scene with Sidney. How meta can you get?

I get it. I think it's different for everyone and can depend on what it is you're watching.

In my experience, when people don't like a movie or a TV show (especially the end, like Game of Thrones) it's largely because their personal speculations were wrong and they don't like that.

For me, when I'm wrong I'm not upset, I'm typically happy to accept whatever the writers give, it's their story, not mine. But I do think it's fun to speculate anyway. And with Scre4m I correctly guessed Rory Culkin (based on gut about how they made him look, similar to how I feel about JQ here). For Scre4m I wrongly guessed Marley Shelton. But I think it'll be Gale here, because since it's different directors, they're going to want to shake things up. And audiences have long been saying things like "Sidney should be in a straight jacket or the killer by now," so I think they'd expect us to expect that.
