It is time to switch things up with the series and having Sidney die and then another new girl survive to setup a different story for the upcoming movies. Sidney had a good run, it is time to wrap up her story.

As a twist, they should make her the killers. She finally snapped after all those murder attempts.

Wut? This is almost certainly the end of the Scream franchise. There's no point in killing her to make way for someone new. It'd probably feel forced anyway.

I feel 4 would have been the perfect time to kill Sid or any of the leads or move on. There isn't much more that can be done with her

Kinda - 4 was supposed to end with Jill getting away with it, and the next film was loosely planned to be her (and possibly Kirby) in college enjoying her 'fame' and trying to cover up what she did, while a new series of murders occurs. I'm not sure if or where Sid was supposed to fit into that.
