Goddamit...

Scream 4 was painfully underrated, and apparently Craven would have made another two instalments if it had done as well as it deserved. Well, audiences didn’t show up, the legend Craven dies, and the franchise has been collecting dust (apart from an apparently rubbish TV series).

Surprise surprise, they decide to blow off the dust anyway but almost a decade later. Why couldn’t they have just given this to Craven and Williamson back when they could have made something special?

I’m cautious about any Scream project that doesn’t have Craven and Williamson behind it, but it sounds like Ready Or Not was a well made horror-comedy. If they can get a decent script, bring the cast back, and not go horribly woke... then maybe Scream 5 could do the series justice, and not end up another festering turd ultra-woke sequel that ruins the whole series.
