This show has no issue showing
an eye hanging out of someone's socket
but nipples and coarse language, that's just unacceptable.
The lack of breasts isn't a big deal but in a show about bikers, I would expect to hear someone dropping the F-bomb from time to time, because bikers probably swear, a lot.
From the creator himself:-
Sutter wishes he could use any word he wants while writing Anarchy scripts, but he's pragmatic about the rules. The show lives, he says, in a world where the F-word does not exist. So how does he express the sense of authenticity and emotional registers that the word conveys?
" 'Jesus Christ' is probably our replacement, ironically," Sutter says wryly. And he says the network keeps careful track of how often his writers use that expression as well.
Everything remotely like a swear word is tracked on every show by every cable network.
Well, now FX is okay with the f-word being said in their shows. American Horror Story was allowed to say it for Cult (Season 7) and Apocalypse (Season 8). And Mayans M.C. is allowed to use it. Too bad SOA can't be "redone" to swap out some usages of "Jesus/Jesus Christ" for the f-word. So it looks like the f-word DOES exist in the SOA universe since they are saying it almost every other line of dialogue in Mayans M.C. Kurt Sutter just said what he did because at the time FX wouldn't allow it. I'm sure other shows are using the word now, but I don't really watch that many shows on FX. I just watch Mayans M.C. and American Horror Story.
SOA was 10 years ago though so im guessing they have relaxed a lot of there rules now compared to back then when it was first written with the censorship caps in place to restrict the scripts.
