Why Was Tara So Special?

That was the one thing about the series that bothered me. WHY was he so in love with her? She had no personality - a walking zombie - so was it just the sex? I know, I know they started at 16, but still. And the season when she chopped her hair, she looked like a man. No beauty queen here, yet it was her face he saw when he was with "hundreds" of other women. Nothing about that character was that special. Not believable.

The other women were afraid of Gemma and she was able to influence them. She could not do that to Tara, because Tara always knew what Gemma was, she did not need the life to become successful in her own right. Jax had his own issues with his mother trying to manage his life. Tara showed him it was possible to be free from that.

Bingo. Also, Tara glowed with an inner beauty, which Jax saw, and had an actual brain, which resonated with his. She was not one of the biker chicks that surrounded him. She had class. The bond between them was utterly believable.

Perfectly said, gentlemen. There's nothing that I can really add. Just wanted to thank you both for contributing something to this board that is actually relevant, decent and insightful. That's unfortunately rare.

Whereas envy-driven rants written by someone with a crush the size of Ohio are too common. MC is very lucky to have posters like you and thewaitress, Charlie.
