exactly what i was thinking, trade shia for shane
shareDId someone see Eagle Eye and write this movie?Eagle Eye was released 16 September 2008, Echelon Conspiracy was reviewed (under it's original title of the Gift) on May 16, 2008. Even so, how long do you think it takes for a movie like this from script to release? Of course it's not a rip off.
I have the perfect explanation:
Two people were thinking about the same story!
No but seriously, when I saw the trailer I was like: what is this Eagle eye 2?
LOL
But I still might watch it.....on DVD just what I did with Eagle eye
"You actually watch daytime TV? It's terrible!" (Dean Winchester)
It wouldn't be the first time that two studios got the same or similar scripts. Maybe there were two writers that had a falling out...
Either way, I totally agree that Eagle Eye was quite pathetic. Limp, totally far-fetched, and ultimately just a rip-off of other movies itself. It was something of a cross between War Games, and... well, take your pick.
This movie looks stupid too. I won't be spending any money to see it. I'll catch it in a couple of years' time when I'm so bored that it finally appeals.
I think it looks pretty fun actually... not too complicated, cool tech things, explosions, car chases... what's so bad about that :-P
shareIt's not a ripoff, it's coming out too close to Eagle Eye for that, but that doesn't mean it's not going to be extremely similar.
It's kinda in the same situation as Deep Impact and Armageddon, as the two movies came out within several months of each other. It's just an unfortunate coincidence for the studios.
Well being that I actually saw a screening of this movie last night. I can say that it's not an Eagle Eye rip off. Aside from it being a computer, I think it was handled a bit better in this movie. Though I didn't care much for the ending.
shareAnd Eagle Eye is a rip off of Enemy of the State (they even mention the phrase Enemy of the State' twice in that movie.
And Enemy of the State is a rip off of the X Files and the X Files is a rip off of every other government conspiracy drama...the list can go on...so your point is?
You know, maybe if you ate more comfort food, you wouldn't have to go around killing people.
