Ed and the M-16

Someone needs to teach Ed Burns how to hold a rifle. When he's standing waiting for the FBI to come back he has his right thumb sticking up in the air instead of around the pistol grip. Then when he finally grips it right, he fires it with the stock under his armpit. Anyone who has fired a rifle will tell you he will have zero accuracy.

Square up, feet apart, knees bent, tight into the shoulder pocket, lean in, nose to the charging handle, both eyes open.

Solution to poor accuracy:

and after they show him how to hold the gun, maybe they can show him how to act!

I'm not a marksman, but that was my first thought. He was holding like someone in an 80s TV show.

That is because its an AK type rifle that is made up to appear to be an AR style rifle.

Look closely. The forward assist he has his thumb on is just a welded on prop. The mag release is the lever just forward of the trigger guard, and the magazine itself is obviously curved like the classic AK 'banana clip'

here is a closer look : http://i31.tinypic.com/70bdde.jpg

There are other obvious AK parts on there. It looks like they took an AK, and just added AR-15 looking parts to it, making a very poor attempt at it. It looks like the armorer / prop guy is just very poor at his job. And the weapons instructor must have been on break to let him hold it like that.
