What tripe. The ideas expressed in the film are clearly extra-constitutional.

That's not to degrade the liberal ideology..."At least it's an ethos".

But most politically powerful liberals are openly critical of the constitution and openly say that it is antiquated and should come second to the perceived desires and needs of the country at this time.

I just call it crappy writing. Even though in reality Democrats move to the center during campaigning that was a tremendous stretch, especially in a primary.

Pretty indicative of the whole movie which I couldn't finish.

Your correct that's something a liberal would say when they win the nomination. During the primaries they would be chomping at the bit trying to be the first one to tear into the constitution.

Well I'll tell you what I am just plain sick and tried of how religion is always an issue during elections. It has no place IMO.

Well, in the beginning, when Steven says the line while checking the microphones, he follows it with a sonar sound, then the sound of a bomb . He probably agreed that the line was cheesy, but hey, he knew the campaign would survive.
