I Wish I Could Have Heard The Dialog

Gosling must have been a student of Marlon Brando. He muddy's his dialog throughout to the point that much of it is virtually just noise.

Wooden, terrible actor.

I like Gosling. He's great in his films

But i can understand if you don't like him , what im wondering is , do you not consider Brando a good actor? Just correct me if my question is stupid, but i seem to have gotten that from your comment.

An ancient race... as Charles Bronson put it.

I agree. I have found this ever-growing and most irritating annoyance with far too many younger actors who lack the ability to project their voices. Some, unfortunately, may consider that mummbling their dialogue to be an essential element of the acting 'craft'. I had to laugh when I read your post and you compared his mumbling skills with those of Marlon Brando, i couldn't agree more.
With most of Ryan Gosling's films I have had to switch on the sub-titles to get any coherency with the dialogue he attempts to deliver. Matthew McConaughey would easily come a close second, imho.

All three of those actors do have a tendency to mumble, and it can be frustrating. But I don't think that is the same as bad acting. Truly bad actors are unlikely to mumble; instead, they will overarticulate their dialogue and make it sound rote.
