When it comes to Court intrigue this show is better than Game of Thrones.
More sophisticated and intricate. The character studies are detailed and very good.

oooohh, that's a tough one to agree with.
HOTD is perhaps more "polished" than GoT but the story/intrigue in HOTD is rather cliche. Of course that could change anytime, it could get a lot better and much more engrossing as the weeks go by.
The thing is, you had so many intriguing story-lines in GoT that it was almost impossible not to relate to at least 3 or 4 different characters in that show. I'm having a difficult time relating to the characters in HOTD. They're not bad but none of them are really stand out characters.
Yes I get it stickman whatever I say you take an opposite view and talk a lot of shit just to be annoying. Why don't you go take a flying fuck at the moon.
LMAO!! Was this thread designed to "catch me" in the act of disagreeing with you? lol...
I think you had me in mind when you hit 'submit'.
Come on now, opinions vary... I detect a small amount of hostility in your post. Are we cross? I would hate to think we can't be buddies anymore. You know quasi, if you weren't my buddy, I'm not sure if I could bear it.

I agree none stand out as particularly "deep characters". besides maybe the king, the prince and the hand of the king (although the hand of the king may just be the actor being good)
GOT just did it better. the characters themselves were each their own well crafted.
Tywin Lannister's deep character alone was a force of nature more than all these combined
Tywin reminded me of my own father. He was a very no nonsense kind of guy and took a lot of pride in the family name.
As a result, I turned out kind of like Tyrion, I would drink too but was not the heavy drinker like Tyrion but I would always say witty things that often rubbed people the wrong way. Apparently, I still do this. :)
GoT is full of great scenes and memorable characters, HOTD has a long ways to go to match it.
So far, I think Rhae is the most appealing character. Let us know what you think of episode 3 and 4. I'd like to hear your opinion of them.
im only on episode 2 so far but gotta disagree. Not saying these people are not interesting or im not interested.I am and I do like the characters. the king is a sympathetic, caring, tortured albeit often weak man. the princess is a typical headstrong young teen without being a Mary Sue or coming off as annoying/whiny. The hand of the kind is a likeable guy.
that said, the Lannister/stark/baratheon/ high garden political jostling was better. Georges original story was just on another caliber in terms of the houses and characters. no one lays a finger so far on Tywin Lannister. although that wasnt shown right away and was earned after build-up in later seasons.
