In the pilot, he had a nasty little abrasion on his back that they tried to cauterize & now in this episode his closest advisors were afraid that he was going to lose one of his fingers so they used a treatment of maggots. I’m guessing leprosy but of course I can’t be 100% certain. Surprised no one else here is asking about this. What do you all think?
shareI think someone is smearing poison onto the cutting edges of the iron throne. The King does seem to be prone to cutting himself when he sits in it.
Who would even want to sit on a throne like that? lol...
I wouldn't want to get cut all the time.
As for the king, I think he has a staph infection of some type. They just cause boils on the skin. No big deal.
His finger has turned black which I think means that gangrene has set in. The maggots are intended to eat away the dead flesh leaving what's left more or less okay.
If the maester conspiracy is true, they could be slowly killing him and maybe even sabotaged the queen's pregnancies.
