Is he still around?

I think Demetri has reached his peak sometime in early 2008...you don't hear a lot about him lately and his big project for Comedy Central also has been cut from a full series to a 90 minute special, mainly because of lack of interest from the intended audience.

Probably word got out that he's just a hipster version of Mitch Hedberg, just without the talent of writing or delivering jokes.

That is completely false, there are ads every commercial break for it and it is a series since the "Premiere" is on 2/11

yeah, for the special NOT the series, it's in the bin. I heard Jon Stewart personally told Demetri off and to stop being such a self-important hipster if he wants a future in his franchise.

Demetri is the same kind of trainwreck that Windows Vista is. A product he gave his face for.

Demetri lost his face for good. I demand him to seppuku.

Hmm... I'm thinking that's not true in either way. It's not true that Jon Stewart said that. And it's not true that you actually heard that anywhere: You just decided that would be a fun thing to say, so you said it. I heard that Stewart "went to bat" for Martin. Granted, it was just Internet speculation (on this board maybe...).

Also, the whole "he peaked in 2008" thing is absurd and shows that you don't really understand how standup comedy is produced. You haven't heard anything from him lately because he's been writing and trying out new jokes.

A 90 minute special is still four episodes. Yeah, that's not stellar, but I'm not surprised. Comedy Central always seems to start there shows out with a limited run.

Also... I thought Mitch Hedberg was a hipster version of Mitch Hedberg. Maybe Demetri is a hipperster version of Mitch Hedberg.
