The New 'Seinfield' ?
Perhaps?
shareyeah, you are right. He is as creepy, as full of himself, as overrated, and as unaware of why he is famous as seinfeld.

Martin's stand-up is a lot better than Seinfeld's in my opinion. I seriously doubt though that his show will be better than Seinfeld. That would be an extremely difficult task.
shareI also doubt it. Because The Seinfeld show's success was 99% due to Larry David's writing, not that whiney 3rd-league stand up.
shareOne Jerry Seinfeld is already bad enough, and the last thing we need is another unfunny douche bag talking about mundane things.
...and yes, I agree that Larry David was the guy who made 'Seinfeld' the sitcom, a hit.
You people forget that larry david didn't write the last 4 seasons of seinfeld and it was as funny if not funnier than the first 5 seasons
shareSeinfeld = show about nothing
This = show about important things
I'm not seeing the connection
"Seinfeld = show about nothing

This seriously made me laugh out loud! I needed that! I have nothing more to say, just thought I'd let you know. Haha.
I thought the last seasons of Seinfeld were the funniest, and the episodes were the most memorable. I mean, come on, the last season had the Frogger episode, absolutely hilarious. Demetri Martin's show is awesome too, but I think its much to different than Seinfeld to compare, mostly because one is a sitcom and one is a sketch comedy show.
shareOh man... the Frogger episode was classic. I think the problem most people have with Seinfeld at the end is that it became a different type of funny.
The last season also had The Betrayal (the backwards episode), which I've often heard described as one of the best.
In Power, there was a sketch that appears to be based on an episode of Seinfeld where two guys fight over a parking space.
shareHe's more like Steven Wright than Seinfeld, He's not quite as laid-back as Wright, but the quirky observational humor is exactly his style. Seinfeld hammers his punch-lines. Wright said them as if he had just thought of them and was perplexed by them.
Sample Steven Wright jokes: "I was a Caesarian baby. No lasting side effects. Except sometimes I feel the urge to leave a house through the window."
"It' a small world. But I wouldn't want to paint it."
Those are more Martin's style than long riffs on socks.
