Reading this forum makes me think that you guys find that to be impossible. I used to consider myself a moderately smart person, but after watching and disliking this show I've started to wonder if I am in fact stupid.
shareWay to lump everyone in together, there. Of course you can be smart and dislike this show. It simply isn't for everyone. I don't care for Sarah Silverman, that doesn't make me an idiot. I think people are considering this show "smart" simply because it's understated.

His jokes are incredibly precise, to the point it's absurd, which is funny.
Randomness seems to be a big part of the show, too, so if you dislike that (like many), then it isn't for you.

Tastes in humor has nothing to do with intellect. Anyone that says otherwise is 1/3 as smart as they think. Geez, its humor…
The show is pure Demetri Martin. If you are a fan, you’ll love it. If you are not a fan it won’t work for you. I love Martin’s sense of humor so it works very well for me. I don’t care for Carlos Mencia so his show doesn’t work for me. Neither makes me smart or dumb, just my taste…

I think a better question would be:
Can anyone disparage this show in a halfway analytical way, besides just saying "lol I dun't liek it, it bad, not funny"?
It should be easy for a "smart person" to give some examples of what you don't like.
