I'm an easy audience. I really am. But, you still have to earn the laughter. I don't laugh just for the sake of it. There has to be something that works on SOME level for me. If so, you'll get my guffaws in the right places.

I gave this supposed comedy show two full chances. Two episodes after previous South Parks.

There was not one single moment I laughed. Not a throw away line. Not a sight gag. Not something in the filmed bits. Nothing. I merely stared at the screen and said to myself "Whose cousin at Comedy Central is this?"

For all the "Yeah, buts..." out there: No, it's not conceptual like "Mr. Show" or "Tim and Eric...". No, it's not bad on purpose. No, it's not veiled "intelligent humor". There is a very obvious attempt at a kind of style and formula, and it utterly fails.

I laughed once at "Two and a Half Men". Charlie Sheen delivered a line that actually made me chuckle out loud. It was the way he said the line. Just struck me as funny. Couldn't help it, either. One time. Therefore, I am sorry to say, based on the final score, THAT is a better show than "Important Things".

Well at least you presented a reasonable explanation of your dissatisfaction. I'm totally convinced that you're right.

People getting salty on the IMDB boards, haha. I agree that this show is awful and I don't think OP is petitioning to get everyone to stop watching it, just stating an opinion. The IMDB boards are message boards NOT fan boards. They serve to express an opinion or thought relevant to the person/show/movie etc whose board you post on.

Yes, but the way he titled the thread seems to imply that the show really isn't funny and we're all just kidding ourselves. I don't care if people express a different opinion than me, but don't accuse me of being disengenuous.

And really, if you don't enjoy the show, other than trolling what is the point of expressing that opinion on the forums? I've never seen any thread about how a show sucks or a movie is the worst of whatever year lead to any sort of discussion. People generally don't all get together for the purpose of talking about how much they dislike something.

Well that's all well and good, except some people do genuinely find it humorous, and although you stated your opinion very forcefully you didn't really say anything substantive about why you don't find it funny, which makes your post pretty...what's the word...useless.

Personally, I find the show pretty average, did make me laugh a couple times but a little too much on the random side for me. I actually like the general style of humor, I just don't think he's the cleverest person at doing it.

I honestly wish I liked it. I haven't seen a ton of it (if anyone can find any links to parts they'd recommend, feel free to reply and suggest them) but I did not laugh for a moment, or even find anything humorous in a way that wouldn't prompt laughter. I like the guy. But this show has been a big failure from what i've seen. ;(
