Spoiler..... The ending
She sprouted seeds from the apple..Grew a large apple tree from them.. The little girl that climbed the tree and ate one was Marthas daughter a few years later.. Either by adoption or biologically. A nice ending to a very painful depiction of loss and grief.
I had suffered a miscarriage. A few years later I had a son. They call these babies rainbow babies.
Martha had her rainbow baby like I did. Different circumstances,, yet very much the same.
