It is silly, but at the same time...Everyone who knows Miley don't even expect her for a second to be a superstar. They don't even consider it in their minds. To most of them, Miley is probably the opposite of Hannah Montana...So if you don't want to see it, you don't see it. :)
But I still agree with you that in real life, someone at least would've pointed out how incredibly alike they look.
Sure, but this notion actually makes more sense in the show than it did the movie. Although it's somewhat strange that Miley doesn't get recognized as Hannah by her classmates, she almost got caught as Hannah twice (first by Rico, then by Ashley). With the exception of Lilly and Oliver (and in a lesser exent Rico), she doesn't hang out with the rest of the classmates after school as Hannah.
However, this notion was extremly overlooked in the movie; Travis and Lorelai were spending weeks with Miley in Crowley Corners, so how come that neither of them could recognize her as Hannah? When Lorelai told Hannah: "You must have a lot of stories to tell" during the dinner at the Mayor, I just wanted to cringe Was that woman actually that dense?? And as already pointed out; How come that nobody could recognize Hannah's voice when she sang "Hoedown Throwdown"? Even the kids didn't recognized her and neither Oswald (who was already dumb as a rock, but however).
