...get together with Sly Stallone and decide what Apollo Creed’s trainer’s name actually is once and for all? They can’t just keep changing it every ten years!

Rocky: “Apollo’s Trainer”
Rocky II: Tony/ “Apollo’s Trainer”
Rocky III: Duke
Rocky IV: Duke
Rocky V: Tony

So for 16 years, we think his name is Tony Duke. Then…

Rocky Balboa: Duke Evers

So now, we have to think his full name is Tony “Duke” Evers. And then…

Creed III: Tony “Duke” Burton

They finally acknowledge Apollo Creed’s real children and then they screw THIS up? Are you serious?!?

I don't remember what scene they refer to him as Burton, but maybe it was a nod of appreciation to the real life actor and boxer since his name was Tony Burton and he passed in 2016?

There was a scene where they said Little Duke's full name and in the end credits, he is billed as "Tony 'Little Duke' Burton."

Tribute or not, it's misguided at best and ignorant at worst.
