Why did Ryder want to know how much Garber weighs? Just before Garber has to start driving the train.

It happened to be the same weight of the money. Maybe another screenplay had them substituting Denzel in a bag for the cash?

Maybe in another screenplay Denzel was the ransom demand. I'd love to see even the city of New York come up with the world's premier african-american actor in just 60 minutes.
