What kind of car is the Police Money Car?

The one in the chase/race sequence. It looks too beefy to be a crown victoria but still either way it seemed like a really hardcore vehicle.

One thing I realized a day after watching it...why was the Charger black? The NYPD CVs were white w/ blue striping. Was it another department or something?

Yea lots of cop cars up here in toronto/hamilton/southern ontario are now Chargers.

Never seen any crotch rocket cop bikes though like they had in the movie....

I thought all the cop cars in New York City were Fords ... they used to be, but I admit, I haven't been paying attention lately ...

Dodge Charger R/T Police Edition....google it. Most law enforcement agencies are using them by now.

NYPD does not only use Fords, they have chargers, chevys, fords, and nissan altimas. NYPD police cars are white with blue stripes, the only cars with NYPD insignia in that dark color are traffic enforcement(meter maids) I doubt traffic has any chargers.

..........The Transit Police or whatever their called........Maybe the film makers thought a Dodge Charger was cooler then an ordinary NYPD Chevy Impala.......Your guess is as good as mine.

The car actually made me think of the first transformer movie. The bad police cop is exactly the same as in this movie... Perhaps re-using props? :p

No. The bad transformer was a Ford Mustang. Although this Charger might as well have been a transformer as it rams a yellow cab and makes it flip and fly out of the way as if the other were a toy.

The cop car in transformers was a saleen mustang. The car in this was a dodge charger.

Its the auxiliary unit of the NYPD, hence the navy color of the car with white stripes instead of the usual white with blue stripes. And yes, it was a Dodge Charger which the NYPD uses in real life along with the Crown Vic and the Impala's etc..
