shareyeah it was so sad. I've seen a lot of big cat documentaries and never seen a cat like him. Really a beautiful lion and such a nice one too. You never even see him lash out or roar or anything. And then when you see him playing like that and jumping around, I've never seen captive lions do that!! So unfortunate he didn't get freed, horrible how electricity can do that and it took so long to end his life. But He helped convince terry to free his family. Sophie unfortunately died too before they took them to the sanctuary. :(

I finished watching the movie about three hours and ago I keep having that scene pop into my mind and I start crying again. That poor thing was in obvious agony for the entire time it took him to die. I think it's one of the worst things I've ever seen in a movie. Then they show the crappy wiring and you have to put the blame on Terry. Why was the fence electrified in the first place.
What a selfish and stupid man. I had some sympathy for him but seeing how he kept the lions in that tiny horse trailer for at least five months hardened my heart against him. Three lions out of five dead because of his stupidity.
And that's just ONE owner of exotic pets; those lions were probably well treated compared to other animals in this country.
I agree - that sound and image will be difficult to have leave my brain. Lacie and the babies watching on (they were electrocuted too).
I found it very very hard to sympathise with him. I get that he had problems but I dont think I'll ever understand how a lion, let alone 2, then 5 could have helped him especially considering all of his health woes.
something needs to be done.
