Well, he was happy enough to appear in it...
From interviews around the time of the UK premiere, it would appear that he was concerned about the PG classification debate, but was a lot happier after he saw the final movie:
But now, having seen the film, which has received rave reviews, Bond, who exudes his creature’s sweetness, is reassured. “I slept so well after I saw it,” he says.
“Before, there was a certain amount of trepidation, I was worrying I’d be lying awake thinking: ‘I’ve let Paddington down.’ Letting other people take control of your character was like letting your child go off in somebody else’s car. You hope for the best, but you brace yourself for the worst.
But from the word go, I was totally hooked on it. It’s one of those films where you come away thinking about it, you keep saying: ‘Do you remember such and such a scene?’ There’s so much in it that’s quite magical. I’d give it full marks.”
