Well, it is a really terrible joke, of the sort that is emblematic of the lazier type of slapdash kiddie movie, so I don't blame people for assuming the worst. A trailer is, after all, meant to show the best of what the film has to offer.

Is that bit not in the actual movie? Because that would really help to explain this. I saw that trailer and thought "that looks AWFUL" and then all the reviews said the movie was brilliant. I've no idea how that trailer could possibly be connected to a good film...
