Haha where are those people who said...

..it was going to be stinker just by judging the trailer with Paddington messing around in the toilet? Vanished into thin air?

97% at RT, Wow! just Wow!

Lesson for the day, this is especially for those 'special jackasses' in the Fantastic Four board also creeping here, its better to judge the final product rather than harping on straws.

I wasn't one of them but to be fair how many times do we get films that aren't as good as the trailers? In this case the film was much better than the trailer.

My favorite comparison in this regard (in keeping with the season) is Disney's 2009 A Christmas Carol. The trailer made it look as if they'd turned it into a wacky Jim Carrey comedy. The finished product, though it did have some over-the-top moments I could have done without, ended up being one of the darker, more book-faithful adaptations that I can remember. (With tons of little moments that came straight from Dickens--the blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot of the blind man's dog pulling him out of Scrooge's path, the glimpse of the Lord Mayor's Christmas feast. And then there's what they did with the Spirits of Ignorance and Want...)

Usual trollers, vanish when proved wrong.

I tend not to judge anything until I've seen it, but man if that teaser wasn't horrible. I thought this movie was going to be akin to The Smurfs or Garfield CGI films.

I'll definitely see it if it maintains an 80% of higher (I love good movies, and I have a soft spot for schmaltz). Paddington's design still unsettles me, but maybe I'll warm up to it once I see it in-film.
