What other children's books do you want to see get film adapted?

If you dig the Paddington film, what other highly compelling children's fiction book/s, or videogame/s, you've read and/or played, would you like seeing get either film adapted.

Please elaborate on what the book or videogame story is about, why you greatly admire it and why it'd make in your view, an awesome film.

There is a series of children's books called the Half Magic Series that I read as a child and have reread several times as an adult. They are nice adventure type stories with smart kids and magic - not the Harry Potter type of magic but a more gentle magic that has its rules which the kids sometimes manage to break and land in hot water. -

Not sure it would count as highly compelling, but I'd like to see the Bunnicula series made into a movie. It's about a vegetarian vampire rabbit that is found/adopted by a family that already has a dog and a cat. The dog and cat are highly suspicious of the new pet. The first book follows the family pets as they investigate the new addition and learn of its true nature. The second book is titled "Howliday Inn" and follows the pets at a pet boarding house while the family is away on vacation. It is more of a mystery story than the first book. The third book is "The Celery Stalks at Midnight" and has the dog and cat investigating what becomes of Bunnicula's "victims".

All the books are humorous and I remember enjoying the novelty of the stories. Plus, each would easily translate to film with very little re-write needed. The mysteries and suspense in each book is just right for kid level stuff; nothing so deep as Harry Potter. I first read them back in the mid-80's and remember them fondly enough that I picked up the set a few years ago for when I have children.
